The Netherlands!

Thanks to a family reunion trip to the Netherlands, a kind Grandparent brought back some cans to give to our class! We are so thankful for the long journey that they had to get to our class. The cans are very colorful. One is black with gold lettering, that seems to be a favorite! We also thought it was interesting how small some of them were....tiny cans of pop! The can with the girl from long ago is to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Coca-Cola! From the Netherlands to the US a long trip from some cans to travel!

Have Cans....Must Recycle....The Plant Bottle

It is shocking how many cans DON"T get recycled....in fact, it is a shame, so part of our project needs to be the promoting of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling......

Thanks to Coca-Cola and the invention of the PLANT BOTTLE.....the company is using a variety of new packaging that is based on plant material!

We learned that this has earned Coca-Cola the Edison Award which awards companies for innovative ideas! Way to go Coke!

All the Way from ....JAPAN!? Well, almost!

Wow....we lucked out on this one..thanks to our teacher's Dad, we have a can from Japan. Mr. Sauder was served this Sprite can while he was on a flight from Florida! Interesting? We thought so to. The good news is that we can add it to our collection! The can adds some color to our red and white ones! Lets hope for some more in the near future!

See Our Museum Grow....

Today we added our 106th item to our museum. Our Goal is 125 items to add, because it is the 125th Anniversary of Coca-Cola this year 2011!! We are getting there! We now have 8 desks covered with Coca-Cola items! It is interesting to here what people can find, who gives them things and what people are giving to us to add to our museum at school!! It is excited when some one brings something it. We really liked Nathan's light up cooler that is a water fountain. What will come our way next??

Happy Cans are here again!

We just got a letter, and a can..... We recieved a 1.5 liter bottle from Belgium. We looked at the map to see how far it had traveled....wow.....from Belgium Europe all the way to us here is Elkhart, Indiana USA!

We enjoyed reading, what we could, most of it we had to translate on googletranslator....

Now we can add it to our bulleting board and map! Belgium, France, Ireland, Aruba, Middle East, Germany, Chine, Turkey, Peru, Mexico, India, Austria, Hungary, and more....we are keeping an eye on the mail, where will they come from next?

A few days ago we had two people from teachers credit union come and teach us about how to write a check.... we also learned about.....

It was interesting and many of learned that things cost a lot more than we think that they do. Some things we don't even realize we will have to pay for some day. It was interesting and hard at the same time. We also learned that math is very important to everyday life!
